Battle of the Premiers
By Ian Richards
1 year didn't make that much difference!
It was end of season and Hawkins Sports had pulled out of playing us because they didn't want to be "Target Practice" so I arranged a friendly with our under 14 counterparts at Ray hall lane, we put on food and drinks and a bit of music and had a great day.
The under 14s took us by surprise after their number 17 chased a lost cause, won the ball back and cut inside from the left and buried a shot in at the near post low and hard. It was clear that they were well up for this and it was time to get our heads on the game. Although were were not at our best within 10 minutes we were level through this season's top scorer Kosheen Sappelton
with another assist for De Quarnai Williams
who has also been superb all season. We had a break on 20mins for drinks and changes as it was very hot and on 27 minutes Kosheen Sappelton
was there again with a cool finish not rushing after a shot came back off the defender he cooly sent the defender the wrong way then finished past the keeper. The under 14s had chances of there own and we also had more chances but it stayed at 2-1. The future looks good for both sets of players. Thank you to Darren and his team for playing us, we will do it again soon.
Our Man of the Match was Kieron Buchanan
who took home a new world cup ball as his reward.
